I was very disappointed with the book

I was very disappointed with the book! Only the first couple of chapters dealt with true self love and the rest of them were hogwash! And I had so been looking and waiting to receive this book which I thought was going to talk about how to radically love oneself!

Beware!! She just wants you to pay for her in person workshops!!

I have to admit, I've only gotten 1 chapter into this book so far, but I have to say that I'm pretty frustrated with it already.
Most of the first chapter tells you about "Gala's" life before she turned it around, how she had an eating disorder and idolized one of the Olsen twins, and how she discovered a practice called "tapping" that literally changed her life. The thing that really got me mad? She recommends that you practice "tapping", but she doesn't explain exactly what it is or how to do it, just gives you this vague notion that it's something combining acupressure and "meridians in your body" that clears emotional blockages. Then she gives you a URL to her website that she says will show you how to tap.
I went to this URL, and there was no content there, just a mailing list signup. As of the moment I'm writing this, that's all it still is. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and figured the book is new, maybe she didn't have the time to get all of the content up onto her website yet. I signed up for her email figuring I'd get a link to a video on how to tap. But no. That's not what happened at all.
Today I got an email from "Ms. Darling", inviting me to sign up for her new tapping course at a discount-- only $95 instead of $145.
Talk about a scam!! How are you going to put out a book that claims itself a guide, and then put your most vital tool for doing so behind a paywall? No thanks lady.
And yes, I know I can look up tapping on my own online, it's just the effrontery of purchasing a book that is supposed to be a guide, and then having to go look it up on my own. Thanks for nothing!

Hardly "Radical"

If you've read Gala's blog over the years there's nothing new in this book that you haven't already read in one form or another. Gala's career has been built around the constant regurgitation of her previous Love & Sequins work. She leans heavily on the concept of Radical Self Love, a much-needed and admirable notion for women of all ages, but disappointingly there is nothing radical or revolutionary about this book. This is just another blogger selling an image to a niche market -- in this case young women with self-esteem issues who dream of living a life like Gala's: shiny and happy and insta-worthy, but with secondary (at best) focus on emotional development. Unless you want to try "tapping" your way to better mental health.
