Best therapy resource on the market!

I have purchased many resources as a student and now as a practitioner. This and the OT toolkit are by far the best resources I have found. The information is informative with practical intervention application. If you are a student this is a must have as you study various conditions and treatment. As a practitioner this includes amazing handouts in both English and Spanish, which are actually helpful and display written and picture directions. I highly recommend this for universities, students, practitioners, clinical fieldwork educators, and anyone caring for someone who wants to regain independence.

This is a comprehensive set of exercises which should meet the home exercise program needs of about any patient. Having the exercises in English and Spanish is an exceptional benefit. The price is very competitive in the world of home exercise program handouts and the treatment guides are very current. I would highly recommend this as a part of the "Tool Kit" of any PT professional actively involved in the care of patients. We have it available for all the clinicians in our large health care system.

A Great Addition for All Types of Settings

The PT Tookit is very thorough and detailed including impairments, assessments, interventions and patient/caregiver handouts. The handouts are easy to follow and include excellent illustrations for each activity or exercise. Definitely a useful addition to all types of settings for the adult/geriatric population. I highly recommend it.

Great book, but the other book of the same author is much better

This is a very high quality book, chock a block full of information about construction sites, with lots of imaginative flaps, things that swivel, move, and fold. HOWEVER...it is not as good as "The Ultimate Book of Vehicles" by the same author. The "Vehicles" book is more appropriate for kids 3 years and up: It is still full of awesome flaps, swivels, and things that move, but it is simpler, with pictures of the vehicle, the name of the vehicle, and maybe a few names of the parts of the vehicle. You open up a flap to see inside, make it move, etc. My son found it very interesting.

The "Construction" is really aimed for older kids, I'm guessing 5 and up, maybe even older. There are just so many words on the page, and so much information. The flaps are not as interesting as the previous book, and I found many of the moving parts to be "sticky", and my 3 year old ripped quite a few out within a week of reading the book. We have not ripped anything from the "Vehicle" book.

So I would say if you have an older kid who wants to gain a lot of knowledge about construction sites, this book is for you. But if you have a younger child (3 and up, any younger and they'd destroy the book), get the "Vehicle" book.

Fantastic For The Young Construction Enthusiast

My two and a half year old grandson LOVES this book. He will sit quietly on his own looking through it, and carefully manipulating the multitude of moving parts (articulating boom arms, elevators to lift concrete buckets and move drivers into lifts, etc.). We read it together first, and set the groundless for how gentle he would need to be if he wanted the book to stay fun with all of its moving parts, and though he isn't particularly gentle with other toys (he loves to pretend monster trucks and elephants are stomping other things), he hasn't damaged any part of this book. I also highly recommend The Ultimate Vehicle Book (I think that's the name of it) by the same author.

UPDATE! My son tells me that the book has suffered some damage from unattended careless use at his house. I have the Ultimate Vehicle Book at my house, while they have the Ultimate Construction Book at their house. My grandson is careful with the book here, but I suspect there he gets a bit wilder. My son suggests the book is best for an older child. I'd say its a delight for a child to read with an adult or under your supervision/with assistance.

Irritating grammar errors but the kids love the moving parts

My boys, 5 and nearly 3, love this book! It's got lots of fun parts to open, unfold and generally move. What bothers me is the multiple grammar errors ("its" versus "it's," come on editors!) and poorly worded sentences. Did no one give this a once-over before printing?! Also, at least one of the flaps has the words printed upside-down, and I've only read two pages of the book, so who knows what other surprises abound. Shoddy work, but my kids have yet to notice.

"NEVER CALL IT DIRT!"

Lab books are all the same! This lab book is nothing different then my other soils lab books.
All the experiments are the same and the only difference in the test is that every instructor's interest on the behavior of soil will vary. Meaning they will omit one test for another based on their emphasis of importance of soil.
A good professor will have a descent lab that has a wide variety of different regional soil samples for the students to test.
I was truly amazed at my soil's lab diversity in samples. My Professor had soil samples from many different states from across the United States and other countries.
This made the lab experiments very interesting and allowed all the results to be different between students and the analysis according to each soil's characteristic behavior.

Quick reference guide

As an organisational strategist, I found this book very useful on occasions when new dilemmas crop up, a quick flip through the book reminds of me the models I once used and forgot about. Its a great Aide-memoir and sign post to support material.

I would caution others in saying that its not an academic book.

The book simply and effectively provides you with enough information to help you decide if the model is useful for your current situation, once you have selected your model you will need to get additional understanding from the references they provide.

I keep this on my desk all the time. Great little resource, well presented and to the point.

Useless...

The book fails to achieve what the authors state.
It is a mere collection of undocumented "charts" from each of the models refered to, with overly simplified explanations and in some cases with significant variations from the original theory.
The book cannot serve as a reference tool. Consider purchasing something more relevant.
