FINALLY -- An Action Driven Approach for Making Strategic HR Tangible

I have already read through to Chapter 6 just this morning. Next week I am facilitating a Process Alignment Workshop for a global German company that is moving to a Pay for Performance model. In less than two hours I have already pulled some great content on how to ensure this fundamental shift in their people processes has a positive impact, is sustainable, and can scale with their strategic plans for high growth. This is obviously the type of book that becomes more than a one time read, but a constant go-to for evolving your business through your people processes and functions.

Primer for People in Management!!

This book doesn't have to be for HR managers or Recruiters searching for the best talent. In fact, it is for any person who manages people and has to get the best out of them based upon optimizing their behavior. I would even recommend the basic fundamentals in this book for people in coaching sports, teachers, and parents because it gets to the core of 'how do I get X out of Bob? What incentives do I put in place to create a positive outcome?' Easy read and I recommend a few chapters for your needs. It will still make sense, you don't have to read the entire book upfront.

I’d like to express my admiration for the book Commonsense Talent Management. This is a timely and successful attempt to formalize HR management practices. This book demonstrates there is no mystery to HR management, that it can be assessed the same way as any other activity using correctly selected KPIs. The book should be read by every general manager, and by people at other management levels, to understand what HR should really be doing.
